Cardan Shaft Mapping

The type of Service we provide for our customers is to perform Onsite Measurements to determine the current cardan shaft Working Length, Flange Details, Application & Location and we also check the Torque requirement for each location.

After compiling all data, we will share with Clients our findings and details information on their future requirements.

Replacement of a Brand new Weld yoke, Universal Joints, and Flange

Replacement of Cardan Shaft Parts such as:

1. Universal Cross Joints
2. Flanges
3. Weld yoke
4. Slip Assembly
5. Cardan Shaft Body

Before we carry out and parts replacement, we will conduct a visual and physical check on the cardan shaft. For example, when replacing Universal Joints we have a GO-no-GO gauge to measure the Cardan Shaft Bearing holes (Flanges side, Weld yoke side). For Slip Assembly, we visually check the spline if it has damage and we insert the spline in close and conduct a physical check on the spline. Body (Tube) we check visually for damages like dents or if it is twisted.

Cardan Shaft Balancing

Balancing removes the off-balance mass that occurs during a round object in rotation. Balancing of the Cardan shaft is always recommended whenever Shafts are sent in for servicing like the replacement of Universal joints. Or even parts replacement Weld yoke & Sliding Assembly.

Powell International uses the state-of-the-art Schenk cardan shaft balancer HGW 30, we can perform the following under ISO 1940 condition

1) Balancing of up to shaft length: 4800
2) Shaft weighs up to 1000kg
3) Balancing speed range: 300 rpm to 3500rpm

Customized Cardan Shaft

Powell understands not all customers are the same and their cardan shaft requirements. We provide holistic solutions for our clients on cardan shaft selection based on life hour requirements, and customized cardan shafts to suit different drive or driven inputs.
